Sawu Bona to Sikhona

Today I attended the Day 1 of a three day workshop hosted by the MOE for Heads of Department . After greeting familiar faces and settling into our groups, we were greeted by our Facilitator. She set the tone for the rest of the day creating an interesting first session and at the same time mindful of her group dynamics and inhibitions.
Through an activity, we all displayed what is termed "21st Century Skills". One colleague pointed out that teachers are labelled only as the persons to deliver content when the reality is we have an immense number of marketable skills which are not fully recognised by the wider non-teaching community.
I have had some exposure to blogs and wikis prior to the session today. I was able to see once more the value of having some previous knowledge on a topic from a student's as well a teacher's view.
I am eager to check out the new resource site and see what they offer. I hope they are free! It was delightful playing around with the voki. Today was the first time I heard of the term.
So my friends 'Sawu Bona" I see you in the realm of the ICT experience and "Sikhona" that you are here ready to to embrace the digital era.
